Federal aluminum, get it from Walmart, 18 cents per round for 9mm
FMJ. Cheapest rounds you can find.
I recommend the cheapest you can find with brass cases. Normally i buy from walmart, cheaper than dirt, or online.
No tracers, fmj will be best bet
Ones that go “BANG BANG” knucklehead!
If you want a good range bullet that isn't junk pick up some partzan prvi. It is the same as federal (nato spec) and at a lower cost. I've tested for rifle parts makers and hornady, winchester, federal and prvi all shoot great grouping. Don't waste your $$ on pmc (ever). Best thing to recommend is pick up 1 box of each brand and see how your gun shoots and how close of a grouping you get with each. So get yourself a box of each and see for yourself w you gun/rifle. And once you have found a type that works for you and the gun/rifle spend a few extra $$ on some match grade ammo and work on accuracy. Don't forget, if this is your ccw or home defense weapon, practice at least 1 box every now and then with that ammo, get used to how the ammo kicks and groups. Since home defense ammo is more expensive I wouldn't do it every time but enough to know how it shoots/recoils, just like practicing w match grade, 1 box at the end of a day of shooting range ammo (typically the above fmj)
Id go with Fiocchi, Winchester, Herters, or PPU. not a fan of Federal, known to have issues.
The cheaper the better and make sure you get the best for cheapest. That way you can get a real sense of how the weapon will shoot when it is needed. God forbid that ever happens. Better safe than sorry.
