I would trust there technicians if they indicate that they are able to help. They are very competent. And if they cannot help you, then I am sure that they would refer you to the local Apple Store
Last I checked they were Apple authorized so if anyone properly can it would be them. There are other unauthorized shops around I'm sure, but I can't speak to them except they might give you a couple bucks trade in on another. Microcenter is by far my first choice and recommendation for anything computer and electronic entertainment related, and for sales if you can find a better price at all, it won't be with the trouble you went to to do it.
