Hello Barbara - MYR does not typically have frequent cancellations; Spirit airlines recently cancelled a large volume of flights due to weather and operational issues affecting the airline's network at airports nationwide. Throughout the summer months, we recommend travelers with flights departing 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. Friday through Sunday arrive 3 hours prior to departure due to the high volume of passenger traffic. If your flight operates outside of this time-frame, our recommendation is 2 hours prior to departure.
I just flew to PA from Myrtle Beach Airport. During the week I would arrive 2 hours early. Fri thru Sun, I would arrive 3 hours early.
We got there 2 1/2 hrs. Ahead of departure. Planed, deplaned and waited 4 hours for another plane.
Tuesday afternoon had no wait at all... Got their way early like they recommended but that was a big mistake. I would treat it like normal, 2 hours early at Max.
I flew out July 24th and took me about 45 minutes to get to security plus time to find the gate
On Fri Sat or sun....3 hours.
The line looked pretty long for regular security, but TSA pre was an immediate walk-through (perhaps many did not renew tsa pre due to pandemic?). Would recommended getting to security at least 2 hrs before flight without tsa pre or clear.
