Is this a good place for dogs to explore with you?

Probably need to follow leash laws but I do know they are not allowed on the beach.

I have seen families bring their dogs to the Mandeville Splash Park on Lakeshore Drive. Just the other day there were three dogs swimming in Lake Ponchartrain and playing in the sand. There is also a very nice dog park at Pelican Park on Florida Blvd., but it is not a beach.
