If the power is still on but you got a notification that they would turn it off you can go to Family services in Shelby or Gastonia. Depends which county you live in. Turn offs before they get turned off they will help. If they turn it off they won't help. You can also get someone to make you a go find me page on facebook. People usually get more than they ask for if they are honest up front about everything. Some of the larger churches will help in this type of need. Mostly the Baptist Association Churches. But I have heard of other denominations helping people in need. They will only make a payment to the power company. So if you got other plans for the money it won't work out.
