Cwps from other states are not recognized in NJ. You can use the range with someone who legally owns weapons in NJ. You can rent guns there even if you dont have a NJ permit. Be very careful bringing your own into the state. There is no state more strict than NJ. There are many stories of people with a cwp in another state accidentally bringing a pistol to nj and getting arrested on gun charges.
You need to go through the safety class at Shooters regardless of prior experience.
