Why would you want to purchase a indigenous animal? If you are capable of keeping the animal, why don't you network and foster baby skunks for rehab? I'm sure there would be no end to baby skunks to take care of in the state of NJ.
There are several places you can buy baby skunks from in nj but u might have to take a little drive. Easiest way to locate a breeder is to simply google skunks for sale in nj. There is a Facebook page called exotic pets in nj.. They seem to have good results. Not sure about the scent gland but if im not mistaken a lot like ferrets the scent gland has to be removed before being sold. If you buy from a private breeder there is a chance you would have to have the gland removed. They usually run around $350-$500 depending on who you get it from... There is a chance that 88 pet world carries them but im not sure just give rhem a call.. They always have great exotic pets but ive yet to see a skunk there. Hope this helps you on your journey.
