Here in the South, we like to preserve our histories, especially for children. No doubt within the next decade they'll almost stop teaching about it the whole truth. So these demonstrations preserve the sounds and sights of battles, examples of pioneer living, and the ability to buy items made in the Antebellum tradition. No racism or sexism is allowed or tolerated. The ignorant get history lessons if they stumble into a deep hole with their mouths. And for those that aren't totally into history, sitting near the 10- and 12- inch pound cannons as they go off is exhilarating. Btw, there is no slavery reenacted. I'm tired of all Southerners getting badmouthed for their history, accent, education, lack of desire for speedy progress. Once again, it's okay to target Southerners, especially white Christians, to have their voice heard. Guess we were taught to being polite while shoveling out of the usual crapstorm. The mill only hosts civil war reenactments for general educational purposes
