Well, I do know that AutoZone sells code readers and if your check engine light is on, they can check your codes with their code reader and AutoZone does have loan a tool, but I'm not sure if the loan code readers. My advice call or visit AutoZone for more info.

Not that I know of but I have NEVER tried to borrow one. They will check your car anytime you bring it to a store and ask.but I'm pretty sure they will not let those readers out of their sight
