My husband and I tried to get water today, February 4th 2019, but the Blue Mount Springs were closed at the Wompatuck State Park. I wonder when the springs are opening again? Any News about the closing?

Yesterday December 26, 2019 went with my husband to Mount Springs to get water, however there was no water coming from the well. Many people showed up and we're disappointed as no sign stating that the well is out of order.

It's open.

Hi Brigit Mager The last time that I went there was a sign saying it was closed. I went anyway and when I was there this park employee showed up. He didn't say anything to me. I got 20 gallons of it (that was 3 weeks ago) I haven't suffered any ill effects. IDK if that helps answer your question

If they were shut down for treatment a simple sign is hung on the door, unfortunately many people believe this a pure natural spring. Sorry its treated ground water located on a formal naval ammo depot. The water is provided for the the camp grounds and hikers basically. The water from the same spring that feeds the faucets at campground isnt potable.

The spring goes down for maintenance occasionally, for certain repairs that require the pump to be shut off. The repairs are typically very quick. Check back in a week max.

Are you saying that the faucets at the spring were not working or was the parking lot blocked off? Or was that entire part of the Park closed? I've only known the faucets to stop working when it snows.
