Nurses are not robots, they are leaders and critical thinkers. If a nurse doesn't follow a doctor's order there's many possibilities for the reason. Vitals? Medication interactions, possible procedures. furthermore, it's a Hospital not a hotel or restaurant. Nurses work on the floor not in the cafeteria. Furthermore to get a tray the nurse would literally have to call the dietary department and try to pull a miracle.. meanwhile her/his other 6 patients probably still need their medications. Also CNA or techs wash the patient, if a family member is there, they are encouraged to participate in the care of their love one. Remember there's a lot that goes behind the scenes. Be kind to one another! -nursing student from another state.
The nurses are under staffed. My husband was a patient there many many times. The nurses are not the ones that bath the patients. That was years back when they did that. The hospitals are a corporation and all they want is cut backs to make them more money. There might be 2 nurses to a wing. They have there hands full.I was the one that bathed my husband, but that was what he wanted. But there were times we were disappointed but we worked through it.I myself would use this hospital, and if I did it may not go as I would like @ times but remember they do not hire a lot of nurses and I have a great deal of respect for the ones that are working for the patients.
Maam.I have a great suggestion for the terrible problem you have experienced, ( that of the nurses not feeding you as a spouse of a patient.)How bout you go down to the cafeteria and get your own food, you know, just like the nurses and other staff do? That is of course IF THEY DO EVEN GET A BREAK. You should educate yourself as to just what Nurses do! This saddens me to see this "review". It's very apparent that you believe that Nurses are basically hotel staff. I was an RN for 41 years, and I can tell you, that our loads just keep getting heavier, and the people such as you that do believe that our job is to feed you, are in no way helpful. Please, take a few minutes of you valuable time, and research just what it is that Nurses do.
Most disorderly hospital I have ever been in. In my entire life ask to speak with a patient advocate. They are going to say the don't have one, but every hospital does. There is also a social worker on every floor, have them come down in person all you have to do is pick up the phone call 0. Tell them your concerns about everything from, food complaints, to servers, to nurses , the room not being cleaned properly(go check your window and blinds and under the bed I am sure it is nasty), to doctors not coming in daily like on weekends, and changing orders without seeing the patient. I could good go on and on..... But, I am just letting you know the social workers job is to help you resolve these problems. An if you have concerns about when you go home for getting medicine, medical equipment, home health care, or follow up specialist, she or he is suppose to give you a paper with the information on it. I needed help with medication and a walker for my daughter an they send me to a place a
