Call them. They will talk to you on the phone. I work there. We don't take walk ins. Call admissions. An intake is fine by phone and they give you a date to come in. They have a great program. It's voluntary. Nothing to be afraid of. Everyone there wants to help you. Give them a call. It can't hurt. Good luck!
I've been a patient here twice. I actually just got released from my second visit last week. I was absolutely terrified my first time too, like, massive panic attacks for 3 days leading up to my intake day because I didnt know what I was going in to. The staff is amazing and incredibly kind. The other patients are super friendly and will take you in like you're family. The groups are great and full of helpful, healing information. It's a great place to get help. It looks nothing like a hospital ward, it's more like a college dorm but with rules. Theres nothing to be afraid of going in to Four Winds. It's an incredible place, and it will help.
I have major depression as well as severe anxiety and I have been to a few different hospitals, I didn't miñd Albany med,but haviñg to go through cdpc, I felt like I did something wrong because you're definitely treated like a inmate and I think that's horrible especially when you are there because you're sick, the staff hide behind the glass and throw you a bag lunch when you're hungry, bad place,
