When I was homeless I applied to get an apartment there and I was the last Veteran of the first 25 Veterans allowed to move in to a brand new apartment there. I chose upstairs for safety and it was bigger. I'm now happily married and am extremely proud to have moved in with their help. I'm living in South Carolina now and my life is enriched and fulfilled with my ever so loving husband by my side and we are enjoying our retirement here
The HELP Veterans Village at the Perry Point VA Medical Center offers 75 apartments for at-risk and formerly homeless veterans. While all of the apartments in the HELP Veterans Village are currently occupied, the VA Maryland Health Care System's Homeless Veterans Program is available to work with at-risk and homeless veterans to link them to housing in the local community. Veterans needing assistance can call 410-632-1342.
