Not true! The drought boxes went away courtesy of your governor and so the food banks are relying on donations from other providers/entities only, to support their communities. The donations you mention are not sold, but instead are bought by food pantries to hand out FREE to that same community. They are meant to subsidize the families in need of food and have not cut out feeding these families in Merced County. Check online for a pantry nearest you and be prepared to show a picture ID and proof that you are a Merced County resident.
I was told that the boxes of canned goods and grocery items was a project, therefore, a temporary one until they lasted. It's true what Terri Ortiz said, and do check online for pantry(ies) nearest you.
Can I donate some fruit?
