After 26 weeks my unemployment benefits have expired, Can I get an extension.

Hello Ct DOL ,I applied for unemployment . 8/27/2022. Then tried to apply for weekly benefit 8/28/2022. Wasn't sure if I could or should that soon. anyway , unable .I got the letter of acceptance fir 9/2/22. I tried to apply for the weekly benefit 9/4 22. Unable . it said there was a break or gap in filing . Does this have to be reset or should I come down there to unemployment ? Hope you look at this and respond .Thanks
