Don't do it. It is like cutting your fingers off to the knuckles. Just keep their toenails trimmed.

This is a horrible procedure to put any cat through! It should be animal cruelty. Its equivalent to someone cutting your fingers off at the first knuckle.

Let them declaw you while you're there and you'll think twice about it next time. Don't get a cat if you don't want them to have claws.

Yes, they do declaw cats. You would need to call and get an estimate and find out the age they would do the surgery. Some people have them neutered and declawed at the same time.
