One person in your party must have a membership. Their card must be presented at checkout for all purchases.
Your initial membership allows one other family a free membership card. You must live at the same address. You are allowed to have 2 guest shoppers to enter with you at Costco without a card. Although, i don't know the procedure for this if your free family member attends at the same time. Upon check out, you scan your card for your purchases, then re-scan your card again for your guests purchased items. Once i was told by a cashier that your guest purchases had to be paid for by you. I had my mother with me that day as a guest. So, i scanned my card again for her purchases, SHE passed her money to me, and i gave it to the cashier. Lol... It never happened to me again after that. Now my guest pay for their purchases themselves. Talk to customer service if you make regular visits, and pay a $100 or more per visit, you can upgrade your card to get back a percentage of your purchases at the end of the year! Also, don't forget; the gas there is cheaper for members only! I have saved a lot
