It's a service plaza they are always higher priced
Yah, they're higher in price bc they're conveniently the only thing there. Just like being at the Airport. The gas station store has sandwiches and snacks that are cheaper and a better value.
It's all about supply and demand
Its inflation based on lack of other options and convenient for travelers. No change in their approach just doing what every other shop does.
It's just because it's a rest area. Don't panic.
I think this has more to do with being located on a highway, where they can charge more since other options are limited.
