Not in this area. You may be thinking of Selden Neck State Park. There are four boat access campsites there. Haddam Island State Park is close by Haddem Meadows up river just a bit. Its day use only, "officially", but I've heard local kids have camped there. Yeah, there its AYOR. Rangers will kick you out.
