When is section 8 is going to be open so i can apply for it

Not only veteran families. However I don’t believe it’s open to general public. Some people are getting something called project based section 8. But it’s only for people with eligible apartments . Not sure how they choose who get that.

I have NYCHA housing and going through domestic violence. I applied for section 8 through my self service portal NYCHA. What do I do if I am still waiting for a section 8 interview?
