If you’re on General Assistance & provide proof each month, your payment can be as low as $5 per month. 1) Once you return to work or make a certain amount monthly, you most likely will have to reimburse the county you had G.A. through. They can garnish your wages. 2) You’ll have to go to Health & Human Services every month to get proof you received G.A. This is just as bad or worse than DMV. Check with a manager at the school you’re attending to see when you have to bring in proof.
It would be best to call them directly. I think it depends upon what program you are attending. But most importantly you should document all contacts with them and attend all assigned meetings th ings.
