Yes, the entrance is a bar and everyone is asked for I.D. upon entry. Drinks are served throughout the show so you really can't get around the fact that checking everyone is necessary. The show is an absolute riot and you should definitely attend. Just, find something for the kids to do instead. First Ascent is an indoor climbing gym for all ages and could be a fun alternative.
