Park at Carnegarie lake parking & cross the Bridge. Walk on island trail
Most the trail is in pretty good condition as long as it's dry. Avoid the section between the rt 1 overpass in Lawrenceville and Washington street in Princeton though. That part got really messed up by the hurricane this year. The section north of Washington street in Princeton is pretty cool since there's water on both sides of the trail for a few miles
I like the part between Washington Crossing and French town (on the NJ side of the Delaware River). It has been a few years since I was actually on it, so I don't know if it is still as nice as it was before.
