You'll be given a players card when you board. On that card will be your free play, usually you have to earn a few points before your free play is unlocked.
When you board the vessel, there is a consierge desk (3rd deck, I believe) they will load the free play on to your card. They will instruct you on how to access the free play, once loaded onto your card.
