Not in May. Will have clams and shrimp
They shouldn't..... Here is an easy way to remember it clams and oysters ( steamed or raw) should only be consumed in months that have an "R" in them.....September-April........when the water is cold (and that's depending on the weather of course, so I stay away from them at the beginning and end of that "R" rule) If you consume those shellfish when the water is too warm then you can get worms and other harmful bacteria. *JAYDN*....I USED TO WORK THERE....THERE ARE NOT FRESH OYSTERS ALL YEAR ROUND....AS A MATTER OF FACT, WHEN U *EVER* ORDER FRIED OYSTERS.... OR IF OYSTERS ARE OUT OF SEASON.....*THEY COME ALREADY OUT OF THE SHELL AND COME OUT OF A WHITE BUCKET*... ARE ALREADY SHUCKED...JUST REFRIGERATED....JUS SAYIN...... IF THE WATER IS TOO WARM, YOU SHOULD NOT EVER EAT OYSTERS. IT'S NOT AN "OLD SAYING " FOR NO REASON!!!! GEEZ. LIKE I SAID, IF THEY HAVE THEM, AND ARE NOT OFFERING FRESH OYSTERS IN THE SHELL, LIKE ORDERED FRIED, THEY ARE NOT FRESH. BCUZ FRYING THEM KILLS THE BACTERIA.
They do not sell clams at all but do have fresh oysters all year round. The old fashioned way of thinking that you can only get oysters in the months with the letter "R" is just that, "old fashioned"! Back in the day when that rule was put into place there wasn't refrigeration. T&W has a leased area they get oysters from all year round & the state has so many regulations in place for the consumers benefit that they are safe to eat all year round! Every visit I make I get the char grilled oysters & they are sooo yummy!!
No steamed clams right now, sorry.
