I've never been to an AA meeting. Are they heavy towards religion because... Not that it's an issue. I'm not religious myself and don't want to be pushed into the teachings. Just looking for help...

Hi shelby. AA is a spiritual program. We have no rules or regulations. The only suggestion that Alcoholics Anonymous has is the 12 steps. I don't know if you are aware of the 12 steps but you can look them up online. God is only mentioned once the in 12 steps. Alcoholics Anonymous is a beautiful tool for life. Every aspect of your life will get better I'm better each day we choose sobriety. Nobody makes anyone go to AA it's our free choice. Of course unless you've been court order to go. Life only gets better and better

It's not at all religious. God can mean a group of drunks. It's a great group of people helping each other get sober. The noon meeting is a good starting off point.
