No, you do not, if you are fishing FROM the pier. If you fish from the surf, then you will have to have a current NC Inland Recreational Fishing License. Temporary Licenses are available at some bait shops and at the Super Walmart over in South Port, if you are from outside of NC or you do not have a current license
