You can wade, thougb i wouldnt recommend doing so as current is downstreet from lackwanna overflow relief facility when in heavy rains it fills and over flows, the overflow is sent to the lake. Frequently water quality is a problem.
You can bring a cooler however you can't swim there as it's not the best environment to do so. Dogs are allowed to swim however and there are several chairs set around in the sand for you to enjoy!.

You can swim, but it's not like a Sandy beach. It's rocky and usually there are quite a bit of dogs swimming there because I think it's better set for furry swimmers ☺️
