The closest they offer to pastrami is a style of similar meat called "Montreal Style Smoked Meat". With that being said, and being that they are in Brooklyn (but the owners are of Canadian / Montreal hertiage), they apparently have their "Montreal Style Smoked Meat" cooked / smoked elsewhere in NY. While i believe their goal is to present an authentic regional smoked meat flavor that you might expect to experience when visit / living in Montreal, unfortunately i believe they miss this mark. But in reference to your original question, their intended offering of "Montreal Style Smoked Meat", is more akin to the flavor of pastrami as you might experience it at many NY style delis here in and around NYC.
For such a straight forward question I can't give a straight forward answer. It's basically Yes and No. Mile End is the combination of a Jewish delicatessen and a Canadian-style restaurant. So "Pastrami" is more like Montreal-style smoked meat there. However, with all that being said I highly recommend you go have a Pastrami / Smoked Meat sandwich there and see for yourself. It's definitely are worth the visit and personally in my top three sandwiches here in the city. I hope that helped.
The place has 5 larger tables and one small table. Not a real Jewish delicatessen, they serve cheese. It is styked like its Montreal's deli called Sshwartz. Pastrami is smoked meat. They serve frys with cheese called poutine. Fried salami is really good, somewhat spicy and good pickles. Their coleslaw is a bit sweeter than most. Their own take. Recommend a place to go.
They serve Montreal style smoked meat its just like pastrami
Sorry I can't help you on that one I've only been there the one time. They are a little bit pricey but the roast beef that I got was delicious
