Is there a fee to open an account at McCoy Federal Credit Union?

There is no fee to open an account but if you are joining the credit union for the first time, there is a $5 par deposit that is collected. This is your share of the credit union (all credit unions collect this). This is still your $5 and it stays in your savings account, if you leave, you take it with you but during your membership in the credit union it stays in your savings. Everyone who joins a credit union do this and this gives them 1 equal share of ownership of the credit union.
