Clawing furniture is a behavioral issue, I would try to correct it first and only declaw as a last resort, if she gets out by accident then she is defenseless. Most times vets can determine a rough age based off of an exam.
I know early in the morning is better to get an appointment excellent veterinarian. I would personally get to know the cat before you have him declawed
Dr. George is fantastic. I've had all my pets go there for the last 18 years. I'm sure he can estimate the cats age. Declawing is a personal preference and if your cat can behave itself.
