Not at all. They finalize your background check on the day you go pick up your firearm. They will also have you perform a safety demonstration before they are allowed to hand the firearm over to you
Typically yes because that means your DROS paperwork is complete and you have a date to pick it up. But I have also been given a date and they forgot to send in my paperwork pushing back my pickup date by another 10 days
