Starbucks has a lot of training on the drinks they serve on their menu. I don't know if they actually have training for the employees on basic coffees? That may be why you didn't get what you asked for?
Maybe they misunderstood what you or did not hear what you were asking for. Could be any number of things. I always give them a second chance. The food industry is a tough place to work.
