The box office started out with 5 theater's showing Star Wars as it loses popularity it will show in 4 theaters, then 3, then, 2 then, 1. As long as people come to see it they show it. If it stops drawing customers the following Friday they add a new movie in it's place. When you quit coming they quit showing the movie
