Why are patients allowed to have their cell phones?? I think its a distraction from getting the positive help they need. Instead of calling their mom and dads and other people? How’s is this helping.

It helps. It helped me in my recovery by allowing me the freedom to work through personal issues.

This is a great question. Recovery First only allows cell phones to patients in specific programs at scheduled times. Patients will not have their phones on them all day. Our qualified staff are dedicated to every patient’s recovery, and make these decisions on a case-by-case basis.

I've never heard of a facility giving you your cell phones for that reason either but now that I am a single mother and need to leave my very small child while I go get off the long term maintenance ive been on, I would love to be able to have my phone where I could facetime him or talk to him anytime I wanted. I understand for the ppl who are just playing on Facebook or whatnot and not working on their recovery and of course theres always those few who ruin it for everyone else but for the select few using it for the right reasons its wonderful to have that privilege.
