A breast cancer patient goes into surgery to have a colostomy bag reversed. It was supposed to be a one hour surgery. She wakes up 8 hours later. She finds out that the MD punctured her bladder/vagina and rectum. Does she any legal recourse?

The only way to know is to start with a records review. They have been very good with my wife and I. The firm has a nurse consultant on staff. Good luck.

Not every procedure that doesn't go as planned is eligible for a lawsuit. However, if the surgeon made a serious mistake or did not provide the standard level of care that another doctor in the same field would give, the patient probably has the right to legal recourse. Without knowing the details of the case, it is impossible to say either way. Reach out to our firm to arrange a free consultation and one of our attorneys can provide you with more information.
