Yes it can be crowded on weekends but fall foliage is gorgeous.
Parts are very pretty but there is a lot of people depending on time of the year, would be best to go off hours
It is a matter of taste. I would recommend early morning hours.
Yes as others have said it can get crowded but it is very nice in the autumn
