Colder days are much better to go see them. Though sometimes you get lucky enough to see some here and there. I took my daughter in October around 10am and we has just missed a small family.

They come in seeking warmth, try going early in the morning on a cold day. Maybe saturday morning might be cold enough. I went there cpl months ago, it was maybe 39°f out, we saw plenty. Good luck!
