Will be selling my car today. I haven't yet purchased a replacement vehicle. Is there a time period from date of sale of present car till when I have to transfer these current plates before I'm in danger of losing them?

Each state is different, some are within 30 days. I would check with DMV to be on the safe side.

You probably have 30 days. To turn them in or register a new car. Probably..so call AAA
