If you are in fantastic shape, you could bike ride the 3 miles to the beach, but be aware there is an uphill slant to that bridge...There is a JOLLY TROLLY that will take you over to the beach for about $4. Very fun way to get over there. You could take that Jolly Trolly up and down the entire beach and then, get off when it goes back by Clearwater BEach again. Lotsa fun. Last bus back home is about 10pm maybe? There is also a very short ferry boat you could ride to Ferry to Clearwater BEach, but you have to google where to park to get aboard that ferry. If you are not on a budget, you could Uber to the beach, and maybe Uber probably might save you money since you won't have to worry about finding PARKING anywhere near the beach that isn't $20. You can sit in traffic on the bridge for eons if you do not get up early. Is less traffic on weekdays. If you take your Own car over to the beach, set aside quite a while to locate parking (study it up ahead of time).
3 miles
Spend the extra money. Stay at the beach
If you are going on a busy week or at a busy time when it's crowded at the beach... you are going to spend some time in traffic... 30-40 minutes roughly... but if you get on it early then you will be fine... Avalon at Clearwater is a very nice area... closed in... you feel safe... and it's not to far from beach... you save a lot of money as well, other than staying in a hotel on the beach...
In car it's easy a bout 10 minutes, but walking it's a long eau like sait Robert
