I personally think thier prices are too high, they get the stuff they sell for free the prices dont really reflect that.
They usually have really good deals on merchandise that has been carefully picked for the public. There are many stores in the valley: in Murray, Midvale, Sandy, downtown.

Every Monday at the Layton store you can find deals for a dollar. Every other day certain colored tags are half off. I found a great Abercrombie fur collar coat for pretty cheap at their Murray store (south of slc)
There is one in millcreek. As with most thrift stores it can depend on what your getting. I think their best deals are on used toys and used furniture. Their clothes are pretty similarly priced to deseret industries which are easier to find.
The deals are adequate. I believe there is another Goodwill in Midvale. However, if you're just looking for a thrift store, Deseret Industries are all over the Salt Lake area
