There are hotels very close to the hospital and as far as i know there is still extended stay hotel on campus. Call and ask for the ssp building.

If you have family staying there is the Nebraska House that sometimes has rooms for very cheap! Also if you stop at the front desk they have a list of hotels they can give you!
Yes, lodging is not far & there are on campus rooms for family.
