Sorry to inform you a 6 hour layover in NY is not enough time to do a NYC sightseeing round trip. Getting into Manhattan from JFK with no traffic will take about 45 minutes, and if traffic is bad, 1 way could take up to 2 hours. This is by taxi and 1 way. If you were considering public transportation, each way could take 1 hour and a half with no traffic and no delays in the schedules. My advice to you is to stay put and enjoy JFK, grab a bite to eat, a little shopping and your 6 hour layover shoild be over, and you will not feel like a mess. ***** You are very welcome Kindra. Safe flights and happy travels.
Thanks, John. That's kind of what I thought. I don't want to be stressed about traffic,
It will take you about and hour and 10 min to get to downtown Manhattan.Take the air train to Howard Beach, then walk to the subway and take the A train to Manhattan. Get off on Fulton Street. You will be a few blocks away from 911 memorial, Wall Street, the Charging Bull, which is close to Battery Park... the ferry to the statute of liberty leave from this park..so you can see the statute from there but you won't have time to take the ferry. If you don't waste time in an hour in half you will see a few things. I've done this and I was able to make it. That is if you really have six hours after leaving the plane. Good luck
Stay put
