Avis offer temporary EZ pass device..its charged per day and all the toll charges will be charged to the credit card after a few days.
With an Avis rental we had they said there would be an additional charge if we used EZpass. I would callor
EZ Pass is now mandatory on most NYC bridges, tunnels and roads. If you refuse to use the device installed in your AVIS car you still will be tallied and your CC charged.
Or pay tolls by mail. They have a rental car option where you out in the dates of the rental.
They usually have one you can use and just add the tolls to the final bill but I would call them and ask
