Take lyft.. Is the same of uber. Or you take the airtrain to Jamaica and you take the metro to Port authority
You can jump in a cab and tell the driver to take you a hotel of your choice or take the train to times square. Just one thing if you are not sure of the hotel. Go to a internet cafe and Google hotel. Com. Pick out the hotel of your choice and price range. Good luck and be careful in NYC. šš

Times Square is a relatively large area with very slow moving traffic. I'd be inclined take the JFK Airtrain to Jamaica Station, and from there take the next LIRR (Long Island Railroad) to Penn Station. Then, either walk 10 minutes to Times Square or get on the 2/3 subway headed north toward Times Sq, one stop away. All-in, you'd spend about $22/person ($8 for airtrain, $11 for rail, and $3 for subway) If you are traveling after 10pm without traffic, you could otherwise just take a yellow cab or Uber/Lyft to Times Square for about $60-$110.
