If you need a wheelchair, you can set that up in advance with the airline when you book your plane ticket.
Yes there is airport personnel that will assist a person in need assistance from the minute they step out of their car and on to the curb at the airports. There are also agents curbside to assist. Once inside the terminal the Airline you are flying will take over, and have you assisted throughout your entire itinerary. The Airport and Airline staff will continue the chain of assist until you are curbside again. Safe flights and happy travels.
