You are allowed to have dogs. They just have to be leashed. We were up there last weekend and the garnet area was closed but the campsite is open.
I don't remember any signs saying it was not. It is a pretty primitive campground. Less than 20 sites. No full time ranger on duty. But I want to say you are good. I have been there twice now and I want to say someone had a dog last time we were there.
