I've been several times but it is generally within what would be considered normal touring hours. I never noticed a sign that indicated the gate would be locked at any particular times. Actually, this last time I visited (last month) was the first time they had actually put a fence around it. However, u definitely want to be the in daylight hours to be able to appreciate everything including the trees around it. Have fun and take lots of pics.
FYI, I found a personal blog that says it's open 24/7/365. I will be there at 8am. Thank you for your quick reply
Daylight hours should be fine. Last time I was there till almost dark and didn't see anyone waiting to lock up. It's most definitely worth at least one trip amd if you like old stuff the Poinsett Bridge is fairly close. Has trails too.
I've never seen hours it's still family owned I've also never seen it locked. I would go in the afternoon so you can see everything
According to the tourism council of Beaufort it is open from dawn until dusk
Its open 24/7 . I didn't see a gate where you'd lock it up.
