Is it ok to leave the museum to eat and then return? (without paying for a new ticket, of course) Or am i suppose to eat inside the museum only? Thanks.

You are free to enter exit as you please. Many enjoy Central Park and return later. It is a very large museum. Just show your ticket at any entry point throughout the building.

No problem getting in and out. The card is daily. You can leave Central Park from the museum or anywhere else and come back the same day !!
