They do lock access to the launch. The launch is not open 24x7. Plan accordingly.
It is on the Mohawk river which would be above the Troy dam. You would have to Lock through 5 State Locks to get to the Hudson river though. It is open and usable in mid May.
Its open during mid may yes! It's one of the best launches in the area! Also it is north of the Troy Dam, it's quiet clean plenty of parking, 2 ramps. Senic
